The 10-Question Self-Test

Two questions for each of the five categories. Answer honestly. You get an instant read on which categories look weak. No email, and nothing is saved.

1. Can you name at least three competitors or workarounds people use today?
2. Who exactly is your buyer?

One specific sentence, such as "owners of one-location dental practices."

3. Have you spoken with at least five people who have this problem, not counting friends or family?
4. What do people do about this problem today?

Their current workaround or what they pay for now.

5. Has anyone given you money, a deposit, or a pre-order for this?
6. What will you charge, and what does one sale cost you to deliver?

Include a number for each.

7. Do you personally know at least 20 people who could buy this?
8. Where will your first 100 customers come from?

Name specific places, groups, or partners.

9. Could you keep going for 12 months if the business earned little at first?
10. What advantage do you have that a capable stranger would not?

Experience, an audience, a skill, or access.
